Pearl Gourami's are also known as Lace Gourami. The Balloon strain is a shorter-bodied version of this popular Gourami. Provide some open swimming space plus some heavily planted areas. Males develop longer fins and become more colourful when in breeding condition.
The minimum tank size for Pearl gourami's is 120L. Increase the tank size whenever you add new fish and live plants. Opt for an elongated tank shape. Also, the tank must have a lid to avoid them jump out of the tank.
Diet:
Pearl Gourami's will accept all types of live, frozen, and dry foods. Feed flakes, and pellets, as well as frozen and live foods such as bloodworms, mosquito larvae, brine shrimp, and daphnia.

A filtration system is necessary for removal of waste and debris. Gourami's do not like fast or strong water flow. Opt for an aquarium filter suitable for your fish tank size that cleans effectively, but offers the ability to reduce flow. If water current is to strong, use sturdy aquarium plants and ornaments to create areas of reduced water current for refuge.

This fish enjoy temperatures between 23 - 27° C. If you are unable to maintain this temperature naturally, use an aquarium heater. Aquarium heaters also stabilize water temperatures. A thermometer is recommended to monitor the water temperature.

Pearl Gourami's prefer a planted aquarium to swim in and around the foliage, as well as floating plants that subdue intense lighting. Gourami's are known to eat plants, so you should add resilient plants with firmer leaves to the tank. Naturally found in heavily vegetated swamps.
