Lionheads are one of a number of fancy goldfish varieties lacking a dorsal fin. Larger specimens develop an impressive head growth which encompasses the fish's head (reminiscent of male lion's mane - hence the term Lionhead). Very similar to Ranchu except the back of the caudal peduncle does not normally taper down to the tail. Suitable for indoor tanks and outdoor garden ponds (but provide protection from predators if kept outdoors.)
