Molly Sunkist Lyretail Sailfin is an omnivore with a strong requirement for plant-based nutrition. A high-quality flake or pellet food should be the staple, supplemented with spirulina-based formulas to support digestion and enhance colour vibrancy. Live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp and daphnia provide enrichment. Blanched vegetables like zucchini, spinach, and cucumber are highly beneficial. Feed 1–2 times daily in small, controlled portions.
Moderate to strong filtration is essential to maintain clean, oxygen-rich water. A canister filter or high-quality internal filter is recommended for stable long-term conditions.
Hardy live plants such as Vallisneria, Anubias, and Java fern are ideal, offering shelter and supporting water quality while tolerating active fish behaviour.
Moderate to bright lighting enhances the intense orange coloration and supports healthy plant growth.
Maintain a stable temperature between 24–28°C using a reliable aquarium heater to ensure consistent conditions.
Fine gravel or sand substrate is suitable, providing a natural appearance and supporting planted aquascapes.
Incorporate driftwood, rocks, and planted areas to create structure while preserving open swimming space for active movement.
