Description

Giant Vallisneria has long green ribbon like leaves, and is a popular aquarium plant due to it's easy care and undemanding needs. Suitable as a background plant, it's leaves tall and flow like ribbons in the aquarium. The leaf is broader than other Vallisinera.

Difficulty

Easy to keep. Tolerates broad water conditions and produces off shoots readily in the aquarium.

  • Water Hardness: 50 - 300 ppm

Background placement in the aquarium. 

Growth Rate

Moderate growth rate. Giant Vallisneria can be planted in gravel, sand and nutrient rich substrates. They are root feeders and benefit from additional iron.

Lighting

Low to moderate lighting requirements.
