Description

Bleheri Sword live plants are native to Central and South America, and are easy to care for. Generally a hardy species suitable for both beginners and expert aquarists. They will readily grow new plants in the aquarium. They have sturdy leaves growing from a central crown and are suited for community aquariums.

 

Features

  • Elongated sword shaped bright green sturdy leaf
  • Available in small, medium, large & extra large, growing up to 50cm
  • Strong and adaptable root system preferring root zone fertilisers
  • Readily propagates in the aquarium, new plants can be separated and planted elsewhere in the aquarium

Easy to keep. 

Placement

Midground to background placement in the aquarium. 

Growth Rate

Slow growth rate.  Bleheri Swords are heavy root feeders and will enjoy a nutrient rich aquarium substrate for large growth. To slow growth in smaller aquariums, plant in a sand only substrate. New plants can be separated and replanted elsewhere in the aquarium.

Lighting

Moderate to high lighting requirements.
