The Emperor Tetra - Blue Kerri is a cute and fun little freshwater fish. This is a slightly smaller species compared to other Emperor Tetras, only growing to about 4cm. Easy to take care of, well-mannered, and look stunning!

The Best Aquarium Size for Tetras:

Being small fish, Emperor Tetra - Blue Kerri is a schooling fish by nature, and best kept in groups of ten or more. You need a minimum tank size of 35L to keep a small group of Emperor Tetras.
You’ll likely need much larger tanks if you’re planning on introducing some tank mates and maybe even more Tetras—usually, the bigger, the better. These fish are active swimmers, so you need to provide plenty of space to prevent overcrowding.

Tank Mate Compatibility:

A schooling fish by nature, the Emperor Tetras - Blue Kerri are best kept in groups of at least ten or more. They make an excellent community fish due to their peaceful nature. However, they tend to be timid and, because of their small size, should not be kept with large or aggressive fish who may bully or simply eat them.

Feeding :

Emperor Tetras can be happily feed on dry foods, either flakes or granules. In addition to artificial feeds, it is recommended to include live or frozen food (Aartemia, Daphnia or Grindal worms).

When it comes to putting the diet together, try to make it as diverse as possible. The feeding habits of Emperor - Blue Kerri Tetras directly affects their appearance and color.  Plants in your aquarium that these fish can naturally graze upon are a great addition to their diet.

The temperature of your Tetra’s tank should match that of its native environment. Ideal water temperatures sit between at a stable number between 23  ⁰C - 26  ⁰C

Aquarium Light :

You can choose to use lighting in your aquarium if that’s what you prefer. Tetras spend most of their time in shaded waters in their natural habitat. To imitate that in captivity, dim lighting would be ideal. LED lights will provide the most customization and allow you to adjust the intensity until you reach the sweet spot.
