The Oranda Bronze is a variant of the fancy goldfish, highly prized for its metallic sheen and distinctive hood, or wen, which gives it a unique, ornamental appearance. As a member of the Carassius auratus species, it thrives in aquaria where careful attention is given to water quality, tank size, and compatible companions. While its luxurious features are eye-catching, maintaining the health and longevity of this fish requires a well-structured environment and consistent care.

Rounded body shape with flowing double tail fins
Prominent raspberry-like hood covering the head
Metallic bronze coloration, often deepening with age
Slow, graceful swimming style
Grows up to 20 cm in length
Lifespan of 10 to 15 years with proper care
Due to its size and waste production, the Oranda Bronze requires a spacious tank to maintain optimal health. A minimum of 100 litres is recommended for a single adult fish, with an additional 40 litres per additional fish. A larger tank reduces nitrate buildup and offers ample swimming space for their long fins.
