The Peacock Gudgeon (Tateurndina ocellicauda) is a vibrant and charming freshwater fish species originating from Papua New Guinea. With their dazzling colors and peaceful temperament, they make a fantastic addition to community aquariums. In Coburg Aquarium, we stock a wide range of Tropical Fish for your selection.
A minimum tank size of 20 gallons (75 liters) is suitable for a small group of Peacock Gudgeons. A larger tank provides more swimming space and allows for the establishment of territories.
Peacock Gudgeons are peaceful by nature, making them suitable tankmates for other peaceful schooling fish like tetras or rasboras. Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping fish that may harass them.
The only drawback of this fish kind is its taste for live food like live blackworms. Quite often the fish ignores dry food though sometimes you may succeed to train them to eat small pellets.

I would have separated fish into 2 bags as the ammonia levels were through the roof when I got them there was lots of fish waste I’m the bags. I think 7 fish in one bag is too many. The fish were great quality and have settled in really well.
