They are a fast growing species and do well in a fish only aquarium. Harlequin tuskfish are protogenous hermaphrodites and can change sex over the course of their lives

They can be aggressive towards other species of Wrasse, and will make a snack of other small fish & invertebrates. Keep with other large semi-aggressive species.
Harlequin Tuskfish are carnivores therefore their diet should consist of a variety of meaty foods. They feed well in the aquarium and should be fed a variety of live, frozen, and prepared brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, blood worms, chopped fish, and other marine foods.
Harlequin Tuskfish require a minimum tank size of approximately 200L with plenty of rock & structure to hide in. They are good jumpers, so ensure your aquarium is covered securely.
