Range

Murray-Darling system and coastal streams of eastern Australia.

 

Reproduction

Build a nest and guards the eggs from predators, usually only breeds in captivity in large aquaculture ponds or similar.

 

Feeding

Carnivore, readily accepts most foods. Will eat small tankmates.

 

Additional Comments

Hardy native catfish, suitable for both unheated and heated tanks. With all our native catfish, please take note that all Australian eel-tail catfishes must be handled with care as the dorsal fin and pectoral fin spines are capable of inflicting a painful wound fin
