Reproduction

Easily bred. After mating the females crry the eggs under their tail until the young hatch and are fully developed.

 

Feeding

Omnivorous and Herbivorous (grazes on algae). Will scavenge on most fish foods.

 

Additional Comments

Very attractive small shrimp, ideal for nano tanks and planted tanks (ensure fish tankmates are of similar small size). Female shrimps become a rich cherry-red colour, the smaller males remain paler. Easily bred. Please note: avoid the use of copper based treatments if invertebrates are present in the tank.
