Reproduction

Breeds in Spring as water temperatures start to increase. Scatters adhesive eggs amongst plants, the adults will prey on the eggs and fry if they find them. First foods for the fry include freshwater plankton (in ponds), or fry foods such as Vinegar Eels and Fry powder food (if raising in tanks).

 

Feeding

Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods, including aquatic plants.

 

Additional Comments

Goldfish have been cultivated for thousands of years, developed into a wide range of colours and fin shapes. The Bonze Goldfish is a throwback to the colouration of the original wild-type Goldfish. Hardy and very easy to care for.
