Reproduction

Eggs scattered among plants, usually spawns in morning. First food for fry: Powder foods, Vinegar eels.

 

Feeding

Omnivorous. Needs frozen or live foods.

 

Additional Comments

The Northern Rainbow (affinis) occurs in many colour forms across northern New Guinea, the population near the village of Pagwi is one of the most colourful forms of this species. Prefers a planted tank with plenty of open swimming space.
