Additional Comments

Like rainbow fishes, Purple spot Gudgeons occur in numerous colour variations. Fish at Utchee Ck (near Innisfail) are one of the nicer forms of this species, having attractive patterning overlaid on a light golden body. Provide a tight fitting cover - Purple spots are expert jumpers!
