Eggs scattered among plants, usually spawns in morning. First food for fry: Powder foods, Vinegar eels.
Omnivorous, accepts most standard foods. Avoid beefheart, feed vegetable foods regularly.
When young, looks like Checkered and Eastern Rainbows, but as it matures, develops more intense red stripes along the body. Best kept in a planted tank with plenty of open swimming space.
