Omnivorous, accepts most standard foods. Avoid beefheart.
Very distinctive with its large black spots. Best kept on its own or with similar sized gentle types in a planted tank with open swimming space. One of the rarer NG rainbows, can be quite delicate and does not prosper when kept with larger species.
