Rainbowfish are quickly becoming a very popular aquarium fish, as they are easy to look after, peaceful and make a lively display. Rainbows show their best colours when kept in an aquarium positioned to receive some natural light from behind the viewer, as this highlights the wide range of beautiful reflective colours shown by these fishes. Rainbowfish are native to northern and eastern Australia, New Guinea, islands in Cenderawasih Bay, and the Raja Ampat Islands in Indonesia.
