Description

Very popular aquarium fish because of their brilliant blue and red colouring, Cardinals look best as a school in a planted tank. Sometimes sensitive, but usually quite hardy once they're settled. Difficult to breed. Most of the fishes in the trade are wild caught or bred in Indonesia. Coburg Aquarium, specialised in different species of live fish.

The Best Aquarium Size for Tetras:

You need a minimum tank size of 30L to keep a small group of Cardinal Tetras. You’ll likely need much larger tanks if you’re planning on introducing some tank mates. These fish are active swimmers, so you need to provide plenty of space to prevent overcrowding.

Tank Mate Compatibility:

A schooling fish by nature, the Cardinal Tetras are best kept in groups of at least six or more. They make an excellent community fish however they sometimes known to nip the fins of slower-moving fish, particularly those with long, flowing fins such as Bettas or Angelfish. Feeding :

The cardinal tetra is an omnivorous species and will accept most foods: Flakes and small pellets. You can also feed them a mix of frozen foods including daphnia, baby brine, cyclops, and Bloodworms.

Light :

You can choose to use lighting in your aquarium if that’s what you prefer. Dim LED lighting would be ideal.

Plants for Tetras:

They are accustomed to medium to large plants in their natural habitat and enjoy a well-planted aquarium with some open swimming space.

Decorations for Tetras:

Artificial plants can work well. Additionally, you can also choose to use Aquarium Ornaments such as: Kazoo handmade fish decorations, caves, rocks, and maybe even driftwood will create a fun playground for them to swim around.

Love them!

Haha, I don't really use my fish but my experience with Cardinal tetras has me finding them to be a good fish to keep and definitely hardier than their neon tetra cousins.
