Honey Gourami is a freshwater fish and belongs to gourami family. It is an ideal fish for beginning fish keepers due to their peaceful nature, hardiness and affordable price. They are timid and shy specimens and may take a while to get comfortable in your tank. These fish are native to northern India and Bangladesh, and occasionally in Nepal with most aquarium fish being bred commercially, they are rarely wild caught.
The minimum tank size for gourami's is 60L. Increase the tank size whenever you add new fish and live plants. Opt for an elongated tank shape. Also, the tank must have a lid to avoid them jumping out of the tank.
Diet:
Honey Gourami's will accept all types of live, frozen, and pack food. Feed flakes, and pellets, as well as frozen and live foods such as bloodworms, mosquito larvae, brine shrimp, and daphnia.

A filtration system is necessary for removal of waste and debris. Gourami's do not like fast or strong water flow. Opt for an aquarium filter suitable for your fish tank size that cleans effectively, but offers the ability to reduce flow. If water current is to strong, use sturdy aquarium plants and ornaments to create areas of reduced water current for refuge.

Aquarium Heater for Gourami's
This fish enjoy temperatures between 23 - 27° C. If you are unable to maintain this temperature naturally, use an aquarium heater. Aquarium heaters also stabilize water temperatures. A thermometer is recommended to monitor the water temperature.

Aquarium Plants for Gourami's
Honey Gourami's prefer a planted aquarium to swim in and around the foliage, as well as floating plants that subdue intense lighting. Honey Gourami's are naturally found in heavily-vegetated, sluggish waters including ponds, ditches, and flooded fields. Gourami's are known to eat plants, so you should add resilient plants with firmer leaves to the tank.
