It is an active community fish that enjoys a spacious planted aquarium. They occupy the mid to upper level water column and are best kept in shoals of 6 or more and a ratio of one male to two females. They are a brilliant greenish - blue with crimson red on fins and tails. Rainbow fish prefer good water quality and stable conditions.
The Neon Rainbowfish is native to West Papua New Guinea and is found in the Mamberano River Basin.
Neon Rainbowfish are relatively peaceful community fish that prefer to swim in groups of 6 or more. It is best to keep multiple females per male, otherwise males can display aggression. They can also be kept with other peaceful community fish.
