Phantom Glass Catfish are also known as glass catfish and ghost catfish. They are a very interesting catfish which swims in mid-water, it is amazingly transparent. Ideal for planted community tanks. Prefers to be kept in a school. These fish are originally from South East Asia. Plants are key for these fish as they will use them as hiding spots which help to block bright, direct light that they tend to avoid.

Diet:
Quality flakes or pelleted foods are great everyday foods and will provide essential nutrients. Supplement their diet with Live blackworms, frozen bloodworms, Brine shrimp and Daphnia for a balanced diet.

Tank Setup:
Aquarium Filtration
If keeping a large school, ensure a good aquarium filter to remove waste. Ensure your filter has an adequate flow rate for your aquarium size to effective remove waste and debris. Filter type will depend on your tank, but internal filters provide great water agitation and oxygenation for you glass catfish. These fish naturally enjoy moderate water flow.

Aquarium Heater
This fish enjoy temperatures between 23 - 27° C. If you are unable to maintain this temperature naturally, use an aquarium heater. Aquarium heaters also stabilize water temperatures. A thermometer is recommended to monitor the water temperature.
Aquarium Plants
To mimic their natural habitat, we recommend adding live aquatic plants to your aquarium. A well planted tank with open swimming space in the middles makes them feel safe and provides opportunity to hide if needed. Plants such as vallisineria, ambulia, crypts, and swords are all excellent choices.

Aquarium Decorations
Glass catfish love driftwood and enjoy lots of hiding spots to feel safe in an aquarium environment. Other ornaments large enough to swim around and hide around such as caves and pipes are also great options.

Aquarium Lighting
Glass catfish are naturally found in darker waters and do prefer the dim environment. While, plants need sufficient light to grow LED lighting is an excellent choice to provide adjustable lighting as desired. LED lighting is also more efficient and runs cooler than traditional aquarium lights.
Substrate
Althought they mainly occupy the middle level of the aquarium. Aquarium sand is a good substrate to mimic their natural environment and provide a suitable bed for aquatic plants to grow.
