Reproduction

Mouthbrooder, females incubate the eggs in their mouth until the fry are free-swimming. Easily bred and the fry are easy to raise.

 

Feeding

Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods.

 

Additional Comments

Males quite attractive when mature, with multi-coloured bodies. Can be aggressive, particularly when breeding, so provide some hiding places. Tankmates should be of similar size and hardy nature.
