Reproduction

Eggs are laid on a hard surface, the eggs (and hatched fry) are guarded by both parents.

 

Feeding

Omnivorous. Eats all normal foods.

 

Additional Comments

Relatively peaceful despite its large adult size. Colouration develops into a rich chocolate and chocolate-red colour as the fish matures. Females remain smaller than males.
