Reproduction

Mouthbrooder, females incubate the eggs in their mouth until the fry are free-swimming.

 

Feeding

Carnivorous. Eats all normal foods, including small fishes.

 

Additional Comments

Needs hiding places. Best kept in a group with 5-6 specimens. Exists in several geographical variants.
