Description
The Clown Rasbora is also known as the big spot Rasbora or Rasbora Kalachroma, and is a larger member of freshwater Rasbora fish family. The Clown Rasbora is a peaceful shoaling species and enjoys a planted aquarium in groups of 8 or more. Suited to the intermediate aquarist due to their sensitivity during water changes.
Native to Peninsular Malaysia and the Greater Sunda Islands of Borneo and Sumatra, the Clown Rasbora is naturally found in densely vegetated black water streams. They are a timid species and will gain confidence with lots of hiding spaces and in groups.
Features of Clown Rasbora's:
- Reddish-copper color body with dark spots on their bodies, anal fins, and tails.
- Male Dwarf Rasbora's are slimmer & brighter than females
- Active during the daytime & rest at night
- Grows up to 9cm

The minimum tank size for a small group of Clown Rasboras is 100L. The Clown Rasbora will occupy the top to middle water column in the aquarium.
