Dymax Bio Glass
Give your filter's beneficial bacteria the perfect home with Dymax Bio Glass. Made from natural silicate fired at high temperature, these porous rings provide a stable, long-lasting biological filter media for freshwater aquariums, marine aquariums and ponds.
A huge surface for beneficial bacteria
Each ring is packed with micro pores ranging from 60 to 300 µm, creating a much larger surface area than standard bio-rings. This gives beneficial bacteria plenty of room to colonise and grow, helping your filter break down ammonia and nitrite more effectively.
Supports the full nitrogen cycle
The highly porous structure allows water to penetrate deep into the media. Aerobic bacteria on the outer surfaces carry out nitrification, while low-oxygen zones deeper inside can support anaerobic bacteria that help with denitrification. Bio Glass is chemically stable, so it won't affect water chemistry, and it lasts longer when paired with mechanical filtration that keeps debris away from the pores.
