Designed for aquariums up to 2000 litres, it helps replenish the calcium corals, clams and other invertebrates use to build their skeletons and shells, supporting healthy coral growth with less manual dosing.
How it works
A calcium reactor uses CO₂ to gently lower the pH inside the reaction chamber, which slowly dissolves calcium-rich reactor media (such as aragonite). This releases calcium, alkalinity (carbonate hardness) and trace elements back into the aquarium in a balanced way, closely matching what corals consume.
Why two chambers?
In a two-chamber design, water passes from the main reaction chamber into a second chamber of media. Here, leftover CO₂ dissolves even more media, which raises the pH of the water returning to your tank and gets more out of every bubble of CO₂. The result is more efficient supplementation with less impact on aquarium pH, ideal for large, heavily stocked reef systems.
