Filters are preferable, the current doesn’t need to be strong for your Betta. Standard filtration system will work perfectly for your fish.
We use either a heater mat for the smaller tanks and bowls or for the larger Aquariums you will need a a heater with a thermostat––Betta fish like water temperatures between 24-27ºC. They generally require a heater in the winter months in most areas of Australia.
Artificial lighting is recommended, placing your betta fish’s habitat away from windows. Betta fish need light while they are awake during the day, and darkness at night so they can sleep.
Live plants are a great idea. Betta fish love lounging on the leaves and hiding in them to sleep. Live plants also help to oxygenate the water and keep the water cleaner for longer periods of time.
