Amazon Sword live plant is native to South America and is easy to care for. It will give your tank a forest-like impression. It's suitable for both beginners and expert aquarists. What's more, it will breed in the aquarium, allowing you to share this marvel with others or expand your additional aquariums.

Echinodorus amazonicus

Difficulty

Easy to keep. Tolerates broad water conditions and has a sturdy leaf.

Water Conditions

  • Temperature 24 - 28 °C 
  • pH: 6.5 - 7.5
  • Water Hardness: 100 -150 ppm

Placement

Midground placement in the aquarium. As the plant grows larger, it can be moved to the background.

Growth Rate

Moderate to fast growth rate.  Amazon Swords are heavy root feeders and will enjoy a nutrient rich aquarium substrate. New plants can be separated and replanted elsewhere in the aquarium.

Lighting

Moderate lighting requirements.
