Description

Create a lush, grass-like foreground with Lilaeopsis novae-zelandiae, a popular carpeting plant for natural aquascapes. Its fine, bright green, grass-like leaves stay low at about 5–10cm, creating a miniature lawn effect in freshwater aquariums.

The plant spreads by runners across the substrate, gradually filling gaps to form a dense green carpet. It looks especially good alongside other small-leaved foreground plants.

Plant Details

  • Difficulty: Easy to moderate
  • Placement: Foreground
  • Growth Rate: Slow to moderate
  • Height: About 5–10cm
  • Lighting: Medium to high
  • CO₂: Optional, but helps it grow denser
  • Temperature: 18–26°C

Why Choose Tissue Culture?

Tissue culture plants are grown in sterile laboratory conditions, so they arrive free of the snails, pests and pest algae that can come in with potted plants. They’re supplied without rock wool, so they’re quick to rinse and plant.

Suitable For: Foreground carpets in planted freshwater aquariums and aquascapes.
