Christmas Moss (Vesicularia montagnei)

Christmas Moss is a popular freshwater aquarium moss known for its dense, branching fronds that resemble miniature Christmas trees. Its rich green colour adds natural texture to aquascapes and provides cover and grazing areas for shrimp and fish fry.

It can be attached to driftwood, rocks or aquarium mesh and is suitable for foreground and midground aquascaping. Christmas Moss is relatively easy to maintain, with slow to moderate growth and occasional trimming recommended to keep its shape.

Key Features

  • Christmas Tree-Like Growth: Dense, branching fronds create a distinctive textured appearance.
  • Easy to Attach: Can be secured to rocks, driftwood or mesh.
  • Shrimp & Fry Cover: Provides shelter and grazing surfaces for small aquatic animals.
