Corydoras Virginiae has a slightly longer snout than most cory catfish. Also known as Virginia's Catfish. Corydoras catfish are popular amongst aquarists due to their calm temperaments and unique appearance and personalities. They are great peaceful tank mates for many tropical species, are easy to breed, and helpful as a clean-up crew.

Corydoras will feel safety in numbers, a group of six corydoras or more in same species is highly suggested. These peaceful bottom dwellers can be kept with pretty much any community fish.
Corydoras will eat anything small or soft enough to fit in their mouths. Feed a quality flake, granule, sinking pellet or wafer. You can feed them live blackworms, frozen bloodworms, Hikari Vibra Bites, Hikari sinking wafers, sinking pellets and Nutrafin Max bottom-feeder tablets.

A good filtration system is necessary for a community tank, lots of oxygen and regular water changes is necessary for your corydoras to thrive. Ensure your filter has an adequate flow rate for your aquarium size to effective remove waste and debris.

This fish enjoy temperatures between 22 - 26° C. If you are unable to maintain this temperature naturally, use an aquarium heater. Aquarium heaters also stabilize water temperatures. A thermometer is recommended to monitor the water temperature.
To mimic their natural habitat, we recommend adding live aquatic plants to your aquarium. Corydoras catfish are aquarium plant safe and will not consume plant material unless it is decaying.

Corydoras catfish do not have specific lighting requirements. While, plants need sufficient light to grow LED lighting is an excellent choice to provide adjustable lighting as desired. LED lighting is also more efficient and runs cooler than traditional aquarium lights.
Aquarium sand or fine smooth gravels are a good substrate to mimic their natural environment and provide a suitable bed for aquatic plants to grow.
