Zoo Med Repti Bark – Natural Fir Tree Bark Reptile Substrate

Create a naturalistic, humidity-friendly environment for your reptile with Zoo Med Repti Bark — a premium natural substrate made from the bark of fir trees. The chunky, irregular bark pieces provide an attractive, forest-floor aesthetic while delivering practical benefits for tropical and humidity-loving reptile species.

Repti Bark is particularly well-suited to reptiles and amphibians that thrive in higher humidity environments — the bark absorbs and slowly releases moisture, helping to maintain stable humidity levels inside the enclosure. It also provides a natural substrate for burrowing behaviour and adds enrichment value by mimicking the forest floor terrain these animals naturally inhabit.

Key Features

  • Natural fir tree bark: 100% natural material — provides an authentic, forest-floor look and feel to any reptile or amphibian enclosure
  • Moisture-retaining: Absorbs and gradually releases moisture — helps maintain stable humidity levels for tropical and rainforest species
  • Naturalistic appearance: Chunky bark pieces create a rich, natural aesthetic that enhances any enclosure layout
  • Encourages natural behaviour: Provides a substrate for burrowing, exploring, and natural terrain interaction
  • Available in 3 sizes: Choose the right quantity for your enclosure size
  • Suitable for tropical and humidity-loving species

How to Use

Spread a layer of Repti Bark across the enclosure floor to the desired depth — typically 5–7cm for most species. Spot-clean regularly and replace the full substrate every 2–3 months or as needed. Mist regularly to maintain humidity as required for your species.

Suitable For: Tropical reptiles and amphibians including pythons, boas, geckos, chameleons, frogs, and other humidity-loving species.
