Avoid aggressive or highly territorial species that may compete with or harass these gentle bottom-dwellers.
Provide a varied diet of high-quality sinking catfish pellets and wafers. Supplement with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, daphnia and brine shrimp. Feed sinking foods after other aquarium fish have been fed to ensure the Corydoras receive adequate nutrition.
Use efficient biological and mechanical filtration while maintaining gentle to moderate water movement. Good oxygenation is particularly beneficial, as Corydoras frequently forage across the substrate.
Live plants provide shelter and enrichment while creating additional surfaces for natural grazing. Leave open areas of substrate available for foraging.
Moderate lighting is suitable, with shaded areas created by plants, wood or floating vegetation helping these bottom-dwelling fish feel secure.
Maintain a stable temperature of approximately 20–25°C. Avoid sudden fluctuations and maintain consistently good water quality.
Fine sand is ideal for Corydoras Panda Longfin, allowing them to safely sift through the substrate while foraging. Smooth, fine gravel can also be used.
Use smooth driftwood, rocks and plants to create hiding places and visual cover. Avoid sharp decorations that could damage their delicate barbels and long fins, while retaining open areas for feeding and exploration.
