The Lake Kutubu Rainbowfish is a beautiful fish with an playful personality. This fish is found only in Lake Kutubu, a limestone filled lake in southern Papua New Guinea. They are one of the larger rainbow fish, reaching up to 12cm, and are an array of blue hues and fading to a yellowish hue at the bottom . They are active swimmers and enjoy a spacious planted aquarium. Best kept in groups of 6 or more with multiple females to one male.
Lake Kutubu Rainbowfish are relatively peaceful community fish that prefer to swim in groups of 6 or more. It is best to keep multiple females per male. They can also be kept with other peaceful community fish.

Lake Kutubu Rainbowfish are omnivores and will eat flake, small pellets, live, fresh, frozen, and freeze-dried. For optimal health, provide a variety of foods, which can include high-quality flake foods, brine shrimp, and any type of worms, as well as vegetable supplements and spirulina.
