Bubble Coral (Plerogyra sinuosa – Green)
Bubble Corals are a striking LPS coral species highly sought after by Australian reef aquarists for their unique, bubble-like vesicles that give the coral a soft, inflated appearance. Green Bubble Corals feature translucent green bubbles that can expand and contract with light and water flow, creating an eye-catching, dynamic display in any marine aquarium. These corals are moderately hardy and ideal for intermediate aquarists who want a coral that adds texture, movement, and vibrant colour to their reef tank. With proper care, Bubble Corals can grow into impressive colonies that become a centerpiece of your aquarium.

Bubble Corals are semi-aggressive and can extend sweeper tentacles that may sting neighbouring corals, so provide adequate space around them. They are compatible with most reef-safe fish and invertebrates but avoid coral-nipping species like butterflyfish or some angelfish.
These corals thrive under low to moderate LED or T5 reef lighting. Proper lighting encourages bubble expansion, vibrant colouration, and overall coral health. Gradually acclimate new specimens to your lighting system to prevent stress or bleaching.
Provide low to moderate, indirect water flow. Strong currents can damage the delicate bubble vesicles, while too little flow may allow debris to settle. Gentle movement ensures proper nutrient delivery and waste removal, promoting healthy growth.
Bubble Corals are best suited for medium to large marine aquariums. Place them on rock ledges or stable substrate with sufficient space to expand without touching other corals. Maintaining consistent water parameters and careful care will help your Bubble Coral thrive and maintain its unique, flowing appearance.
All our corals are sustainably collected or tank grown to ensure our reefs remain protected.
