Description

The Terracotta Breeding Cave with Anubias combines a natural hiding space with live greenery in one easy-to-place piece. The handmade terracotta cave provides a shaded, sheltered space for breeding fish and shy species, while the attached live Anubias plant adds lush greenery and visual appeal.

Anubias is a hardy, slow-growing plant that’s easy to care for, does well in low to moderate light and adapts to a wide range of water conditions. Together, the cave and plant create a natural-looking feature that gives fish a place to retreat, rest and breed. It suits fish such as plecos, cichlids and shrimp.

Key Features

  • Terracotta Cave: Handmade natural clay hide for breeding or shelter
  • Live Anubias: Hardy plant attached for instant greenery
  • Shelter: Helps shy and breeding fish feel secure
  • Beginner Friendly: Both cave and plant need minimal care
  • Low Light: Anubias grows well under subdued lighting
  • Easy to Place: Ready to go straight into your aquarium

How to Use

  1. Rinse the cave gently in aquarium water before placing it in the tank.
  2. Position it in the foreground or midground, in a shaded or low-flow area.
  3. Keep the Anubias rhizome (the thick stem the leaves grow from) above the substrate. Don’t bury it.
  4. Remove any yellowing leaves and wipe off algae gently during maintenance.

Please note: Burying the Anubias rhizome can cause it to rot, so make sure it stays exposed. Some leaves may yellow as the plant adjusts. This is normal. Never release aquarium plants into waterways or drains.
